Early Music Colorado Fall Festival
The Renaissance Project was one of the
groups featured at the Early Music
Colorado Fall Festival at the
Boulder Public Library Auditorium on
Saturday, October 24th, 2009. Like last
year, we had a wonderful set of motets
to perform (we haven't run out of
motets yet!) by our favorite composers
Palestrina, de Lassus, Byrd and Vittoria.
This was our first performance of a piece
by the well-known but fringe
Renaissance composer, Gesualdo.

This time we're reaching back to the
12th century with some Notre Dame
organum - an early type of polyphony
based on plainsong. We'll also sing
some glorious motets of the English
Renaissance by Purcell, Byrd, and
Tallis, plus Palestrina's seminal work
"Tu Es Petrus."
